The Perfect Two-Day Romantic Stay at Coorie Retreats

Some breaks need a full itinerary. This one does not. Here is what two slow days at Coorie could look like, if you let them.

Day one: arrive and settle in

There is no rush on arrival. Unpack properly, put the kettle on, and let the quiet of the countryside do its work. Each lodge and geodome has its own character, its own kitchen, and its own private outdoor space, so there is nowhere else you need to be and nothing you need to go looking for.

As the light starts to fade, that is your cue for the hot tub. Wood-fired and set beneath an open Scottish sky, it is the sort of thing that turns an ordinary evening into something worth remembering. Bring a glass of something you like, and let the evening move at its own pace from there.

Day two: a slower kind of morning

No alarms. No plans before breakfast. Coffee on the deck, a look at the fields beyond the fence, maybe a visit from Angus and Winston if they are feeling sociable. This is the part of the stay most guests say they miss the most once they are home.

When you are ready to move, the Wild Wellness Spa is close by: sauna, cold plunge, salt bath and a red-light room, all designed to be self-guided, so you take it at whatever pace suits you both.

The afternoon: Portpatrick and the coast

A short drive or walk brings you to Portpatrick, with its harbour, coastal paths and easy places to stop for lunch. It is worth building in time for nothing more than wandering. This is not a day for a checklist, just a coastline and some fresh air.

The evening: outdoor cinema and one last fire

Back at the lodge, wrap up, choose a film, and let the outdoor cinema do the rest. It is a quiet way to close out two days that were never meant to be busy in the first place.

Plan your own two days

Every stay looks a little different depending on the lodge or geodome you choose, but the shape of it stays the same: arrive, slow down, and let the countryside take over for a while.
