Getting to Coorie Retreats, Portpatrick

Coorie Retreats luxury glamping site is located near Portpatrick village in Dumfries and Galloway, southwest Scotland. We are just 7 miles from Stranraer train station and 65 miles from Glasgow Prestwick Airport. We are also close to the port at Cairnryan for crossings from Belfast. With reliable local taxi and transfer services in the area and great car hire options, it’s easy to get here whether by car, train, plane or ferry.

By car or taxi

Each of our glamping units has its own private parking space, making driving here a great option. The postcode for your sat nav is DG9 9AB. Car hire is available from the airport if required. We also have lots of great local taxi and transfer services, which you can book in advance. We recommend Maclean’s Taxis and A2B Taxis in Stranraer.

By train

The nearest train station is Stranraer (7 miles). From here, you can take a taxi straight to our door. The driving time is around 15 minutes. There is no taxi rank at the station, but you can book in advance.

By plane

Our closest airport is Glasgow Prestwick (65 miles). This is around a 1.5 hour drive. Car hire is available at the airport, or you can arrange a taxi transfer in advance.

By ferry

From Northern Ireland, you can come across to Scotland by ferry, on the crossing from Larne to Cairnryan. The ferry takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes. We are around a 20-minute taxi ride from Cairnryan Port (12 miles).
