A seed of an idea

Coorie Retreats is the culmination of years of hard work from business partners Tomas Robertson and Eamon Heggarty. After meeting on a building site in 2018, they realised they both shared a passion for design and construction, and the seeds for Coorie Retreats was sown. With experience of working in the hospitality industry, they got their heads together and planned a glamping retreat like no other.

Having stayed in glamping units with their families whilst growing up, they thought, “We could do that – and do it better.” They chose Portpatrick as the location for their venture. This stunning seaside town has so much to offer guests, including serenity, peacefulness and local beauty. It’s the ideal retreat to enjoy a nice dinner, a few drinks and a walk in the countryside before heading back to your accommodation. And so the dream became a reality.

Dreams come true for everyone

Despite the ups and downs of starting a new venture, Corrie Retreats has proven to be a success story, and is still growing and developing today. WhatsApp messages are constantly pinging between Tomas and Eamon as they aim to make every aspect of every person’s stay perfect. Where else can you Netflix and chill in a wood-fired hot tub watching a 100-inch cinema screen? The answer, by the way, is nowhere else.

Coorie Retreats offers all guests the chance to experience the remote Scottish countryside with all of the luxuries to make it a perfect holiday. In the morning you could be saying hello to Highland cows, exploring the Dumfries & Galloway countryside in the afternoon and relaxing in a wood-fired hot tub in the evening.
