Meet Angus & Winston - Our Highland Cows

During your stay at Coorie Retreats, you may notice two familiar faces watching from the surrounding fields. Angus and Winston, our resident Highland cows, are both two years old and have quickly become a much-loved part of the Coorie experience.

Highland cows are one of the most iconic animals you’ll find in Scotland’s countryside, known for their long shaggy coats, sweeping horns and calm, gentle nature. For many visitors enjoying a Scottish countryside retreat, meeting Highland cows is a memorable part of the experience  and here at Coorie, they’re right on your doorstep.

Guests are welcome to spend a quiet moment visiting Angus and Winston during their stay. Each lodge includes a small Coorie cow care kit, allowing you to gently brush and feed them while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

It’s a simple moment, but one that captures the spirit of a Scottish retreat,  slowing down, connecting with nature, and enjoying the small details that make a stay at Coorie truly special.
