Just a short drive from our luxury glamping site in Portpatrick, Dunskey Castle is a fantastic place to see during your stay with us. The ruins of a 16th-century tower house, this is a famous and protected landmark in the area. Built for the Adairs of Kinhilt family from 1510, it was used for just over a century before falling into ruin. Although you can’t go inside, it provides a dramatic backdrop for walks along the coastal path.
Book NowThere is a wonderful circular walk along the coastal path, from Portpatrick to the ruins of Dunskey Castle, returning via an old railway line. It starts from the car park at the south end of the beach and you can get full walking directions here. The signed path itself is clear and fenced in steep areas, but please take care as the walk takes you up high onto the cliffs. So always stick to the path. The walk takes around an hour and offers excellent views of the village, coastline and castle ruins.

Had the most fabulous stay. Everything was perfect and couldn’t have needed anything more! Relaxing hot tub, amazing views and outdoor area was great. The pod was cosy and well equipped. 100% would recommend to anyone for a luxurious getaway!
