Nestled next to the pier at Stranraer is Agnew Park, a great place to visit if you have kids. It not only offers plenty of space to run around and burn off steam, you might be lucky enough to go for a ride on a miniature railway! The park is open all year round, with additional activities during the school holidays.

This place is just so well thought through with the customer experience right at the heart of everything the two lovely owners have created here. We LOVED the fizz in the pod when we arrived, though better from the hot tub while we watched a movie on the big screen outside. The pod is so well fitted out with everything you’d need for a luxury stay away with thoughtful extras like milk, tea and coffee and rather fancy snacks. We’ll be back for longer next time so we can use the outside fire pit (wood provided) and pizza oven (they provide pizza hampers as an extra). Did I mention they think of everything? Check in/out was super easy too. Can’t wait to come back – so much to do in the area and Portpatrick has some lovely restaurants we want to try. Well done Eamon and Tomas 👏👏👏
